Regional Distributed Organizing Director
The DNC is seeking an Eastern and Western Distributed Director to join the National Distributed Team. You will draft, implement, and oversee the distributed calling and texting program with targeted time-zone volunteers. In this role, the director will supervise a team of distributed organizers to build a large voter contact and recruitment organization. You will specifically be using text and call tools to talk to voters and recruit volunteers across the country, with a targeted focus on battleground states. You will be supervising a team of organizers that run daily text and call campaigns for voter contact and recruitment.
The ideal candidate knows how to build a culture of excellence with high goals across time zones and in a virtual workspace, with a track record of driving organizers to hit ambitious voter contact goals and a specialty in volunteer recruitment and activation. This cycle, this role will be focused on building a large organization that escalates and engages volunteers to take action for Democrats up and down the ballot, and laser-focused on coaching staff to hit those goals.
Responsibilities:
- Setting organizer goals for recruitment and voter contact, and coaching and managing organizers to hit capacity-building and voter contact goals.
- Build a streamlined system for managing phone call and text campaigns, and hold organizers accountable to running high-energy, high output phone banks and text banks;
- Maintain and execute against rigorous and efficient volunteer systems, including question answer support, volunteer onboarding, trainings, and daily recruitment;
- Design a clear volunteer experience from onboarding to leadership, and manage a team to recruit, cultivate, and escalate volunteers at every level of engagement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 cycles as an organizer or digital organizer; at least 1 cycle of management experience of a team of 4+ entry-level staff preferred.
- Clear experience building systems and structures for staff and volunteers;
- Strong proficiency with organizing tools such as Mobilize America and VAN;
- Experience working with predictive dialer tools and texting tools;
- Familiarity with Slack, Zoom (or equivalent), Google Drive;
- Strong virtual management, communication and writing skills;
- Able to manage staff and volunteer programs across time zones;
- Ready and prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and willing to be flexible with responsibilities over time.
Travel Required: Low, 10%
Salary: The salary for this position is $78,000, on an annualized basis. This is a full-time position that may require work on weekends and has an end date of November 15, 2024. This is an exempt position.
