Job Overview:

The 2024 Coordinated Campaign is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join the National Organizing Team. Based in Wilmington, this role is crucial for mobilizing and managing volunteers to bolster the campaign's local organizing efforts. The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with community leaders, emphasizing community engagement while maintaining robust systems and accountability. Ideal candidates will be passionate about driving community engagement and building relationships with volunteers. This role will report to the Wilmington Regional Organizing Director.


  • 1-2 campaign cycles of experience as an organizer;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong responsiveness through all forms of communication;
  • Experience with managing volunteers, especially volunteer leadership development;
  • Proficiency with organizing tools such as Mobilize America and VAN;
  • Familiarity with Slack, Zoom (or equivalent), Google Drive;
  • Strong in-person communication and writing skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ready to work in a fast-paced environment and willing to be flexible with work streams and tasks over time.


  • Build and maintain local volunteer relationships, with a strong focus on responsiveness and inclusivity;
  • Oversee local volunteer activities, ensuring optimal placement based on skills and interests;
  • Assist in planning and executing volunteer engagement events, ensuring robust volunteer involvement;
  • Drive volunteers to take on more leadership to build a large volunteer-centered organization;
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the local field office, including the office staffing schedule, making sure the office is stocked with supplies, and coordinating with the Operations and IT teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The salary for this position is $66,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience. This is a cycle hire position with an end date of November, 15, 2024.
